I don't know about how good of a deal it is, but I've got a question for you. I've got the same type of deal. '83 Z28 and I'm ready to put the '89 IROC rear end in soon. Do you have a plan for adapting the metric fittings on the rear and on the proportioning valve to you're standard fittings on the '83?
thanks
Clem

Hey guys, I bought a '87 T/A parts car for $500 canadian funds and got a nine bolt rear with disc + posi off it. I have been told that there one of the strongest GM rears you can get. Yes this includes 10 and 12 bolts. I still don know much abougt it but mind is a austrailian, "Australia" Stamped on the posi casing and outer baring covers. These rears are hard to find parst for if you dont know anything abougt it, but when you ask around and learn, its well worth it. If you get it, look for "Aus" stamping on it and let me know!
the junk yard where I live wants $450 for a 10 bolt and there is nothing special about it either. So I say it's a good deal if that is what you are looking for.

$350 is a little high for a 3.27 ratio.
Fittings - Go to Napa, they have metric fittings. I ended up getting a fitting with the right threads, but a smaller ID, then drilled the ID to the correct size. Cut off the old fitting (ie the tube end), put the new fitting on an re-flare the tube.

Currently installing 3.73's into my 9 bolt (YES,it is a 9 bolt & YES they are 3.73's, not 3.70. 4.11's to follow soon
