I've finally got my tranny shifting real nice at half throttle and lower, but when I floor the gas pedal the trans won't shift, it just hits the rev limiter and bounces around. In addition, after I've done this, the trans won't shift at all. Why is it that the trans shifts great until I give it full throttle and then it won't shift at all? I've tried adjusting the TV cable, maybe the TV valve in the valve body is messed up?

Also I have a MSD 6al with rev limiter set at 5500, but the car only revs up to about 4900, I think its still hitting the stock rev limiter, does anyone no how to disconnect the stock rev limiter?

What about the govenor? Sometimes teeth break off or maybe the weight are sticking.

U may have a weak band or low trans line pressure!What gears do the tranny not upshift into?

I have check the govener gear and it is perfect.
Even when I am bearly on the throttle the tranny stays in first for a fair amount of time and the shifts real hard into 2nd and then shifts into 3rd almost immediately because I am not giving it much throttle. And if I use the shifter to downshift into 2nd the tranny will just shift right down into 1st. And then like I said before if I give it too much throttle then the tranny won't shift out of first at all until I left off the throttle, and if I don't let off the throttle soon enough the tranny won't shift out of 1st at all. I have to let my car sit for about an hour and then it will shift out of first.
In addition the tranny fluid seems to be right on the money.

huh.. wierd stuff goin on there- my advice is to yank the pan and poke around, maybe uninstall the shift kit- when did the problem start before or after the kit?

It actually had the problem of not wanting to shift out of first until I let off the gas for awhile. After I installed the shift kit, it now shifts out of first without letting off the throttle as long as I don't give it too much throttle. But I never had the problem of it not shifting out of first at all.

sounds like u have the TV cable adj. to tight.
