Re: ID this Trans...
Look at the counter shaft bearing at the front of the case. If it has 'Timkin' on it then it is a WC trans. This same bearing will have a shallower center, whereas a non-WC will have a flat face on the bearing.
Looking up that number Im getting that it is infact a WC Tranny.

Re: ID this Trans...
I was told it was a WC and it came out of an IROC. I don't have the trans yet nor do I have pictures so I figured I'd post the ID # and see what people would say. If I had the trans/pics, I could tell myself by looking at the bearing casing you mentioned. Thanks.

Re: ID this Trans...
I've run the number but only came up with 'Mustang/Capri" etc. Talking with the current owner, it came out of an '88 IROC. I'm not 100% sure on the first year for WC T5's but he and the website both claim it's a WC.

85' is when WC Tranny's were introduced. Yeah the best way to identify it is when you have pics to look at it. The casing could honestly be from any car that had a T5 if it was ever rebuilt.

"World-class T5's were used in various Ford models starting in the 1985 model year, and in various GM models starting in the 1988 model year."
I apologize..I was wrong.

Re: ID this Trans...
That ID # in your first post looks to me like the casting # for either the extension housing or the main case of the trans. He needs to give you the model #, which is located on a metal tag that's attached to one of the tailshaft housing bolts. For example, the model # for a WC T5 out of an 88 305 TPI car would be 1352-176. It's way common for people to give out the case or tailshaft casting #, thinking it's the model #. Another place you can commonly find the model # is the decal located on the top cover of the trans. On the NWC T5's it's usualy a green and white sticker, while the WC ones usually have just a plain white sticker. The model # is in large text on the green and white stickers, while it's really small on the white stickers.
