Powertrax Locker for my 10 bolt

I've got an '89 formula with TBI and a 5speed. I'm wondering if the powertrax guys are telling the truth when they say that the install is doable by regular human beings. I have the usual hand tools, what special crap might I need? I know pretty little about rear-ends. Thanks.

Hey, thanks for responding.
What's a gear lube pump? It sounds like its a pump for gear lube , but I'm not too sure what to use it for.
Doesn't the gear lube kinda succum to gravity, and fall out of the diff?

yeah but you need the pump to put it back in once you seal up the diff. There is a plug on the engine side of the rear that is how you check fluid level and put it back in once it is put back together

future mods:
completely done over suspension, black paint with flames, Hurst shifter, dakota digital gauge package, procharger supercharger.

I think you should consider changing your screen name.

I'll take this time to explain the name. It's nothing religious. I chose it because it's the name my friends have given my f-bird. If you've ever seen the movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy", you'll see why. I saw the above movie in JUNIOR HIGH, so I'm sure that if anything was offensive (i.e. car-names relating to actual anti-christs), it would have been nixed. If you have some deep religious sentiments, sorry. Keep in mind that the name isn't meant to be controvertial, it's just a name.

Christ stands for honesty , love , respect, and the brothers(sisters too) coming together here in fellowship of their F-bodies. Your name will always be looked at for what it is so you may want to seriously consider changing it.

Hello?
I said that the name had nothing to do with my idea of Christ, christianity, God, or religions. It's a name from a PG movie.
Tell a legend like Ed "Big Daddy" Roth that offensiveness has no place in the car world, and see what he would say.

AntiChrist, your name is controversial. You might have explained it to us already but do you feel like explaining it to all 7170 members? Not to mention all the guests. If you don't want to get onto peoples bad sides I'd just change it, why go through the hassle of somebody always posting "what's up with your name" on every thread you open or reply to. I don't care if it's from a movie and if that is your cars name, it's still something that gets under my skin everytime I read it.

JPrevost, how about NTChrist? I'm willing to compromise. You gotta admit, though, that I put up a good fight.

I'll admit that had I noticed your screen name, I probably wouldn't have replied. I don't take that sort of thing lightly.

Your new suggested name makes it sound like you are the Windows NT Messiah - is that true??

It's about the size of a grease gun with 2 tubes on the end. You can use it to pump lube into the rear end or manual tranny from a jug, or pump oil out of a manual tranny. However, you can buy rear end lube in quart bottles (you'll need 2) that have a nozzle on the cap so you can squeeze it in while under the car. It works a lot better if you put about 3" of plastic tubing over the end of the nozzle so you can get the bottle up higher.

NT....I would have said "F-off" let's cry about a screen name a little more.

If he really wanted to use that name to offend people, he probably would have went to soem religion board....not thirdgen.
