Replacing the Clutch
Hey, I'm pretty set on buying an 83 Trans Am this weekend, depening on the answer to this question. I've been looking for a long time now and have considered many cars, but this ones in MA with me and it seems like a great deal.
It's an 83 Trans Am, and the guy says it needs brake work and I'd need to replace the clutch. Tires as well. I cant ask about the brake work because I dont even know exactly what it needs right now, could just be the brake line. For the clutch though, its definitly going to need to be replaced. Anyone know roughly how much this will cost? Or is it a pretty easy job? I've never done it, but my friends really good with cars and I cant ask him right now but if it's not very hard then he probably knows it. He's finishing up his 4 years of Automotive at our Vocational school.
I know that shops charge different prices, but if anyones ever gotten theres done at one or something like that, how much was it? Or if it's not too hard of a job that doesnt require thourough knowledge of the transmission?
Thanks alot for any help
