Installation is a snap, pretty strait forward. Yes you have to use a different shifter cable, but it is included with the shifter when ya buy it. Watch out when you hook up your back up lights to the switch they send ya,sometimes they make your back up lights burn all the time. Just check to make sure they are no burning all the time before you get it all bolted toghter. If they burn all the time, take a screw driver and bend the metal on the switch out a bit and it will fix it. That was the only problem I ran into on mine.

Yea it has an indicator telling you what gear you are in. I didn't have any major problems with the installation of mine, it took about 6-8 hours. If you want to see what it looks like check out the pics on my website of my interior.

Bend the switch? You do know those holes are elongated so you can adjust the switches, right?

You don't have to use the shifter cable they give you, I used the stock one and never had to get under the car.

I used their new cable and had no problems... I looped it over the trans as showed in their directions. The shifter was cake, for me, the hardest part was cutting up my Firebird "formula-like" console top to take the new B&M plate. The new plate fit exactly between the bottom of my ashtray button and the top of my window switches.

I also did the wiring of the Radio Shack relay that B&M mentioned; that was easy, too.

Make sure you adjust the cable properly underneath the car!! It's not hard, but a lot of guys do it wrong because it's a pain in the butt. You have to hop into the car, move the shifter, hop out of the car, go under the car, check/make an adjustment, then get up, hop into the car, etc... Do it at least 2000 times! Just joking, but do it more than twice... make dead sure of that adjustment. Use the correct holes in the shift lever, too.... B&M's instructions cover it all.

Re: Guys with A B&M MegaShifter

I know this is an oldass thread and I am necro posting, but I cannot for the life of me, get my stock cable to play nice with my megashifter, I widened the slot on the megashifter's tab to fit the cable and bent it, which I believe is how most people do it, but no matter what I do, my cable does not like the angle and doesn't want to face the pin quite the right way either, I have managed to get it on there, and it shifts through p, r, n and drive, but its not smooth at all, and won't reach first gear, need to some advice/tips on how others have done it, pictures would also be great.

Re: Guys with A B&M MegaShifter

It wasnt as easy as I thought. The holes are not elongated for the microswitches. I recomend doing that yourself before you get it set in there. also to give yourself more room id recomend removing the center console.
