I wouldnt waste your time with a 700. I went through 3 when my T/A was stock LB9 305. And to think I could have spent a whole lot less if Id gone with a 6-speed after the first 700.... The last and most pricey 700 I had was the TCI street fighter.(JUNK!!) For about 400 more on average you can have a 6-spd.

Yea, a six speed is nice an all unless you want an auto. Search for something about a Raptor 700R4.

I would love to have a 6 speed rather than a 700

but what am I looking at for cost and time wise to convert it all ?? just a close guess

and do you think it would even be an option to have it installed ?? or is it going to be way too much?

thanks

I've thought about looking into him

it would work out for me too cause I can take out the tranny and that's only a little over 2 hour drive from here

Anyone using a stage 2 tranny from them (Pro-Built) ???
thanks for any help

It cost me 1800 from billy graham, came with everything including clutch. the only thing I had to fab. is the crossmember, which I bought from Andris Skulte. Also, there is the speedometer. I think there is a few companies that sell converter boxes to allow the use of a stock speedo. I have the Auto Meter in mine. It took me one day to convert, and once you get a decent clutch, its worth every penny. Ive got 4.56 gears in my rear end and I cruise at about 2200 RPM @75mph in 6th.

Everyone will tell you something diferent

Most of whom I've talked to about it agree that A well built 700r4 will be stronger (a few did disagree)

Has anyone any exp. with the Pro-Built 700r4's??
or heard of anything about them???

thanks again

Not a 700R4! a TH400, TH350, and a Glide are though

I've got a BTE 700R4 that has been great. I've run 12.30's on the motor and 11.70's on nitrous with that trans so far, and it has performed wonderfully.

My $0.02, with any manual trans, it's not a question of whether the trans will fail, but when. Synchros eventually give up the ghost, and require repair. I know three different friends who have each destroyed a T56. The T56 is a strong trans, but they all eventually fail.
