700R4 leaks

I have an 89 Camaro with the 700R4(v-6). There is fluid leaking under it. I figured the worst thinking it was probably a front seal. So when I looked under the car I discovered one bolt is twisted off for the pan. I have 3 questions

1: Has anyone had a similar experience with this?

2: Is it hard to get to the bolt as it is sheared off flush with the pan?

3: It doesn't stay in park. I don't think its a linkage issue so if not can I change the part without removing the trans? I read on here. I think its called the parking paw or something like that.

Re: 700R4 leaks

Mine had a leak I just couldn't find too. When I pulled the motor and tranny a few weeks ago I discovered it was the dipstick tube. That stupid rubber seal was just not tight at all? Replaced it with a lokar. I also noticed when the shop put it together there are 2 front bolts holding on the pan and they used too long of bolts and they were hitting the front cover inside. I guess they felt resistence and stopped tightening the bolts. Anyway they were loose causing a leaky pan. As for the bolt broken in the tranny, easy out should work. $10 for the kit at sears. If your tranny doesnt stay in park I would make sure your adjustment is correct on the cable. Mine at first was off a hair and you had to pull slightly back on the shifter to get it past the safety switch for starting. I kind of liked it that way for would be thieves.

Re: 700R4 leaks

Well just an update. I fixed my pan leak and the broken bolt came out very easily. I just drilled it and the pressure from the bit spun it out. The linkage is also much better. It actually fully engages into park. Now to tackle the other issues on my long list of to dos.
