Will a 225/60/15 fit on a 10in rim?
Is that to wide for a 60 to fit proper and no worries about it coming off in a hard turn n such???
I like that bulging side wall look.

a 225 tire will be super stretched out on a 10 inch rim.
i dont think you understand how the tires are measured...
225/60/15
225, the first number, indicates the treadwidth in millimeters.
225 millimeters is 8.8 inches
60, the second number is the width of the sidewall, in relation to the treadwidth
225 x 0.6 (aka 60%) = 135
therefore, you have 135 mm tall sidewalls... or 5.3 inches
15, the last number is the inner diameter of the tire, indicating the wheel size it can be used on.
15 inch tires go on 15 inch DIAMETER wheels
...
if you want a bulged sidewall, on a 10 inch rim, you should be looking at tires in the 295 area.
a 295/50/15 will be pretty close to stock height, but a lot wider

Look up that tire on http://www.tirerack.com
Not only is the tread width of a 225 less than 10", so is the sidewall width. The metal of the rim will be the widest part, meaning if rub something, like a curb, its gonna eat your rim instead of having the rubber to protect it.
Get a narrower wheel or a wider tire.

I hate to say it, but this question would be better suited on VW forum. Not trying to bash; you'd just get more realistic and accurate responses of people that have done it.

Got a chance to try this, just mounted an old tire up.
went on easier then thought, even being half dry rotted.
onlything is the tire doesn't touch the rim edge as tight.

Here is a 225 on a stock rim

What size rim is stock for a 86 Firebird, 8in?
225s do look full on a stock 3rd gen width rim, but I got the same 225s on my V8 car and they look waff, like they got more room to give. Must be a 7in rim?
[the 10 in rim in pic is the match to these below]
