Clutch Problems

Well what happened was I swapped in a 350 for my 305 and kept the T5 put a new clutch in, trans and everything bolted up, and got in to press on the clutch. The pedal had minimal movement and stopped then there was a (clank) noise and the pedal went to the floor and wouldn't come back up. So I unbolted the slave (which is now leaking) and the throwout and fork move freely but the tines on the pressure plate won't come back up. I'm thinking I may not have got the pressure plate bolted on evenly and just wanted to run it by other people first before I tear out the trans again.

The kit I put in came with:
friction disc
pressure plate
throwout bearing
and pilot bearing

Also the flywheel only has 210 miles on it so I know it's not that

Re: Clutch Problems

Did u install the throw-out bearing correctly? It is very easy to do it improperly.

Did the clutch fork stay on the pivot ball? If it came off the ball and fell in a certain way you could just be mashing your hydraulics till they popped.

Re: Clutch Problems

Yeah, fork is still on the ball and throwout is right, just seems like the tines on the pressure plate won't release. They moved in and won't come back out.

Re: Clutch Problems

Must be a bad part, but if ya install the throwout wrong it makes a mess, eats through the pressure plate fingers, and ya then end up over extending the slave which blows it. It then cost more then twice as much in the end.

Re: Clutch Problems

Also for longevity on my 2nd attempt I went with a beefier federal-mougal TO bearing and ditched the one in the kit.
