If you've got a single cat, its a 3.08 posi. If you've got dual cats, its a 3.42 posi. Another way to tell is if you disc or drum brakes. Disc brakes usually means 3.42 and drum brakes means 3.08, but 91 is a weird year due to the disc brake shortage. But the single/dual cat method is fool-proof. Also check your RPO code sticker in the rear locking storage compartment for codes that start with "G". G80 is positraction, GU3 is 3.08, GU6 is 3.42.

I have stupid drum brakes on the rear. I don't know if it is typical of thirdgens or what, but my car doesn't stop very well. I had the brakes looked at (I have never worked on drums) and the Midas guys said they were perfect. They were cool and didn't charge me anything, even though I took up about 45 minutes of their time. I have dual cats, though. Thanks for the information.

Ok then, the dual cats mean you have 3.42, and the drum brakes mean your car was built during the disc brake shortage of 1991.
