Can anyone recommend a good clutch setup?
I am in the process of trying to gather parts for my T56 swap and I have been looking at clutches due to the fact that the clutch that comes with the trans will probably be worn out. I wanted to know if you guys that have experience with manual transmissions and differential type of clutches could make some suggestions?
I won't be drag racing the car or anything. However, I would like to clutch to be able to withstand some power. The car will be more of a weekend warrior after the swap. I guess I'm looking for a something that is above stock but not an all out racing clutch.
Thanks in advance,
Jay

I've been extremely happy with the Ram Powergrip clutch. Not too aggressive/chattery, and definitely takes the abuse of a strong motor without issues.

I have been looking into RAM, Zoom and Hayes myself. How many miles have you put on it so far?

Re: Can anyone recommend a good clutch setup?
From what I have been reading here and on other sites is some people have good experiences with some clutches and others don't. Its seems to me like hit or miss. That's kinda what I've come to expect from aftermarket products though. Anyway, I guess I will have to pick one that closely matches what I'm looking for and hope that it will last.
Basically, when I get done with my car I want to be in the 375- 400rwhp range. Probably not even that much more like 350-375rwhp. My car will be used for cruising I may occasionally get on it hard. Other then that, I just want a clutch that is dependable and one that does not take away from the car being fun to drive.

P.S. You can't go wrong with McLeod either. Last edited by Pat Hall; Aug 26, 2009 at 06:05 PM.
