has anyone ever used a seperate inline tranny cooler?
has anyone ever used a seperate inline tranny cooler?
I saw one online, and it seemed it would be ALOT easier to change the fluid AND the filter if u had a remote filter.
however, if i were to get one, would i just be able to remove the filter in the pan without having to do anything to it?
anyone have one?

Im being tempted to run a screen filter in the tranny and run one of the inline up front some where. Haven found a good spot to put one on an fbody, yet.
SSC
Edit: I guess they were nice and told everybody it was a PH8A, there goes my nice little rant

I'm running a remote trans filter (the one from Summit) in front of my passenger side front wheel under where the air filter can sits. To reach it you have to remove the panel underneath at the air dam. Mine is tied to a B&M Supercooler that is located infront of the radiator.

I have a B&M 24,000 GVWR trans cooler on my TH350. It is a LOT easier to change the fluid since it hooks up with rubber hose to the hard lines. All you have to do is get a clean container and fill it with a couple gallons of trans fluid, disconnect your suction sine and place it in the fluid. Disconnect your pressure line and put it in a drain bucket. Have a bud start the car in neutral while you are up front making SURE the suction line is emmersed in fluid, and when the pressure line starts squirting clean fluid, shut the car off, hook the lines up, and check your fluid. There ya go, shade-tree trans flush. Not anywhere NEAR as easy (or as good) as having a flush macnine, but way easier than dropping the pan.
