putting a non world class t 5 in
my old t5 is junk and i found one with 0 miles on it so why not put one in with no miles right. what kind of clutch kit would be good to get. engine is a 350 with no mods except headers and cai. im looking for a kit that can handle more hp than a stock engine puts out. id like to make this a solid set up for the future.

What do you mean junk, did you scrag it? The NWC T5 aren't the strongest, I put one that was recently rebuilt in mine. Alot of people on here would suggest against it. Other would say that as long as you treat it good and don't beat on it it could last.

Haven't drove it much since i put it in, but it felt good, i put in after my swap, and i have to adjust the slave cylinder/clutch fork, because i have to push the pedal through the floor to disengage. Thats a seperate problems, But Zoom Clutch kit GOOD! same guys make brute clutches and some other brand.

I would strongly advise against putting a high friction clutch in any stock T5, let alone a NWC. Clutch and tire slip protects transmissions. T5s are fragile. Play nice.
That said, I've got a brand new Zoom clutch sitting around if anyone wants it, and probably anything else you could need.

Go for it, I had a WC T5 in my 86 and I gave it HELL and it was always good to me until it ran out of fluid and locked up. Got $1000 from the shop who told me they checked it the same day. I kept the $1,000 and dropped in a turbo 350. Goes to show ya if you want something done right, do it yourself!!!

I'd rather replace a clutch than the tranny. Its cheaper! Thread
