T5 swap to TH400... crossmember/torque help please.

i have a 1987 IROC, the tnew tranny in and bolted up. cooler and Lines are in. I think I can use some custom fabricated spacers and longer bolts in order to use the stock crossmember. Thats still being worked out, however im at a totall loss of what to do with that torque arm. Any ideas or soloutions would be of help. Thank you.

an aftermarket crossmember mounted torque arem setup would be good. Check UMI performance, Spohn, or BMR fabrication.

Hello, we offer a torque arm relocation crossmember for your swap or if you have a short torque arm a transmission crossmember. Here are some pics of both crossmembers. If you have any questions or would like one let me know.

I got mine from UMI for a TH400 bolted to a big block. Factory torque arm bolts right up. Comes in red or black. $239.00 bucks.

this is how i mounted my th400, it always worked great, no clearance issues or anything and it seemed to plant the rear just a bit harder, its not like spohns but it was nice

They dont make them. All their conversion crossmembers are made to be used with their torque arms. I can say that they are very nice pieces though. The only problem with mine is that it runs right where I need to put my exhaust so I am going to fabricate a new crossmember that will still use the Spohn torque arm.
