Re: T5 reinstall under the car?
it's easier than a t56
I don't know if you'll have the clutch off, but before you put the engine back in, make sure the clutch is lined up so that the input shaft slides right in and the trans. bolts up to the bellhousing. That's about the only potential hard part about a T5.

I don't know anything about the "extra hand" part. I've always done them solo.
If you get the clutch lined up good (don't bother even trying without the alignment tool) then it usually goes in pretty easy. Worst part is reaching the upper tranny to engine mounting bolts.

Re: T5 reinstall under the car?
dude just do it this way.
I've done it by taking the trans out from under and engine from the top and yea it will all go back in without to much trouble that way.
but i found just dropping the engine and trans together from the bottom is way easier

That's f-ing nuts. I do that all the time on a 4th gens. I am going to have to respectfully disagree and say that it not easier than pulling it out from the top.

Re: T5 reinstall under the car?
Thanks guys.I pulled the tranny out the bottom.piece of cake!I decided when I drop in the new motor in to just install the clutch assembley and bell housing then bolt the tranny from under the car. Thanks for all the input.BTW This tranny can be pulled in about 30 minutes ounce the car is jacked up and when u pull the tranny fist(4 bolts)Then the bell housing bolts are easily accessible.

Man I hate doing this alone! If it slips, you're ****ed. I did my T56 install alone with a 2X4 strapped to it. T5 would be easier and you've discovered.
