700r4 problem HELP!
700r4 problem HELP!
Greetings TGO members, I am in need of some assistance.
When I purchased my 88 Camaro, the P.O. had installed a TH350 into the car. It finally gave up the ghost and I replaced it with a 700r4 that I purchased from a member here on TGO. Everything seemed to go smoothly, but now I cannot get the trans to go into any gear. As in, I have park, and every thing else is neutral. It rolls forward in reverse, backwards in drive, etc. Relevant information: Carb'd SBC 350, no computer/ECU, B&M Megashifter. If there is any other information I am missing, please let me know so I can get this all figured out. Thanks in advance!
Edit to add: I have also adjusted the shift cable and tried putting the trans in gear with the selector by hand.
Eagerly awaiting your replies.

Re: 700r4 problem HELP!
hey, when you took the torque converter out and then re installed it im pretty sure you did not have it all the way in and when you installed the transmission you broke the pump due to the converter not being all the way in.......so the converter was forced on the pump .............
