TH 400 dimensions
How much shorter is the TH 400 transmission with a 4" tailshaft than a 700r4. Im doing a swap

what measurement do you want off the 400? I have one in my shop I will get the measurement in the morning if that would work.

ok I will post them in the morning I am replacing 700r with th400 also. I want to say the mount is 5 1/2 inches diff. but will let you know for sure.

The crossmembers they sell are for one with a 4" tailhousing, is that what you have. The TCI website says well there are 2 different measurements, 28 3/8 or 33 27/32. The 700r4 is 30 3/4

ok the overall measurement for th400 with 4" tail housing is 28 3/8" and the mount is 26 7/8" from engine just like the post by Built 91z28 but I never could find that out when I was making up my crossmember supports.
