his code reader is probably a obd2 (96 and up), you need a obd1 code reader (95 and older)

Re: tranny problem need help

i used a genesis obd 1 scanner. and the only thing i can think of is the guy before me put the wrong pcm in it. but i don't know if you can even do that. i adjusted the t.v. cable and it seemed to help for maybe 10 min of driving and it was back to the same thing

Re: tranny problem need help

disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes, that will clear the codes. see if it helps, if there is something wrong, the code will come back.
i do not think another pcm would work right, they are coded for certain vehicles. a wrong one would either make it (the moter) run real bad or not run at all.
if it happens again, unplug the wires from the trainy (not the speedometer wires), drive it, if it runs good, then the trainy would need some work done to it.

only tcc is controlled by the ecm. at what speed/gear do you notice the problem?

Re: tranny problem need help

it usually starts to act up if i kick it down to pass a car. it will make the light come if you put it down a gear with the shifter and if you put it to the floor. but it doesn't do it every time. one of my buddies thought i might hae a servo sticking. it seems like it is mainly drive and overdrive that does it. also noticed when the service engine light isn't on and i am town driving it seems like it surges a little bit. and when the light comes on and the tranny starts acting up my motor doesn't rap up right and it will start to back fire
