Carb/TH350 guys! Which kickdown cable are you using?

I am trying to find a kickdown cable that will work. I have found some that are 36", 42", 46", and 39". Of course they have the universal that are cut to fit. Which one is working for you guys?

Im running a holley carb with the holley throttle/kickdown bracket.
I know lokar has and adjustable one, but im looking for a stock one that will work.

Thanks

I have an earlier th350, but I use a pioneer ca1951. If you have a 350c trans, its a different number because the tube size at the trans is different

Its a 77 4X4 th350 that I converted over to a long tailshaft. The original kickdown cable measure to 38" and had the double o-ring seal.

I want to convert it to the top-hat type seal.

I checked a 81 camaro and it looked like the 700R4 cable with the button and the black rain drop connection at the carb. It looked cleaner, but it might be for the th350c.

All the other cables have the slide link on the carb.

As long as it works and seal off.

Im going to try the Pioneer CA-1951 you suggested. When I look it up on Advance Auto Parts, they list a 46" cable for the 75 C10.

Hopefully this will help others that do the swap.

are you wanting to know more to seal up the hole in the tranny or to actually run? I disconnected my cable on my th350 in my s10. Id rather control my shifts. If I was to punch it with it hooked up in it, it would probably come close to putting me in the ditch everytime.

Well, I had a double o-ring kickdown cable installed on the trans but not hooked at the carb. I am use to down shifting with my B&M mega shifter.

I am having a leak in the corner were the dipstick tube and the kickdown cable is located. I dont know which is leaking, but it needs fixed. I have a flexable double o-ring dipstick tube to replace the factory single o-ring. I couldnt find one with the sleave type seal that fit.

I do want to keep the option of running the kickdown cable, so I might as well replace it with the correct length version. I may never hook it up to the carb, but I can decide that later.

Oh yeah, with my 3500 converter and Hoosier Qtp's, I can appreciate the caution of the rear kicking out.

No I dont want to just plug the trans off.

I just plugged mine off with a piece of fuel hose, permatex no2, and bolt with hose clamp. I kept having leaks from the area so I just got rid of it. I control my downshifts with the shifter if I have to which is very rarely since I run 3.73s. When I did run one tho, I used the one off a 1972 chevelle with 350 from advance auto parts.

Anyways, good luck!

Looks like the one for the Chevelle is a little shorter at 42".

Did you have much slack in the cable? I assume that you just tuck it between the bell housing and firewall.

A guess as long as it fits the bracket and hooks up to the carb, the total length doesnt matter. Or am I wrong?

I just got a B&M kickdown for a TH350... the length is adjustable. Wasn't expensive either. Works well.

I assume you guys running the B&M cable are running this one.

Considering it is $34.99 plus S&H with would be another $11 its almost triple the cost of the Pioneer brand that Autozone carries for $15.99.

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...&parentId=12-0

or at Advance auto for $19.99

I think I will try the Pioneer one from Autozone. I have used several pioneer products over the years and have had good luck.
