is there a factory dana 44 application that uses the same cover gasket as the rare thirdgen dana 44?

I need a gasket for mine. The 96 vette irs gasket is different and a 75 jeep is different judging from picts. I need an application so that the parts moron can look it up at the store.

I haven't used a diff cover gasket on a car since the early 80's. A bead of RTV silicone works just as good.

I would think that almost any rear wheel drive solid axle Dana 44 would use the same gasket.

Yeah I would have thought the same so I looked up the jeep dana 44 gasket and it looks different.

I might just end up doing the rtv thing.

according to summits fancy pictures, the dana 44, 50 , 60 and 70U share the same cover pattern. The vette/viper dana 44 IRS is different entirely.

i've been using RTV in place of the gaskets for years. Never had any luck getting teh gaskets to seal.

They seal fine when you put enough RTV on them.
