Monster Tranmissions?

Anybody ever run a monster transmission? I'm looking to get one for my IROC, $1,400 for a trans they claim can support 600+ HP. My old man was running one and had nothing but issues with it and if you keep his car in lockup and foot brake it to a stop, it will not stall (which makes me wonder if it cross bleeds but IDK much about transmissions).

Re: Monster Tranmissions?

I've been on this board for 6+ years, and I have never ever read anything good about Monster. I'd pass.

Look at Pro-Built Automatics - never ever heard a bad word about his trannies - everyone rants and raves about how nice his products are and his great support. He's an active member here, and builds a far superior product for not much more - plus he really follows through after the sale and will help in any way he can if you have install questions/etc.

Re: Monster Tranmissions?

I can build a Powerglide for less than $1400 that can easily handle 600 HP.

Re: Monster Tranmissions?

I have a monster 700r4 and I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. I hope your issue gets worked out. do you still have the warranty or no?

Mine was only advertised to handle 500 hp, not 600

I'd love it but I am looking to build a street car. The glide just isn't practical for my situation... nor will the car actually see anything more then 500-515 horses.

I'll hang onto your number. I work a 3 season job and currently only snow plow, once I get back to work I'd be interested though.
