problems with t5 swap
Ok guys another question. Finished my swap havent dropped the transmission back out to see what the deal with not being able to go into 5th or reverse. Anyways wanted to check the other 4 gears to make sure they were fine. 1st is fine, 2nd once in gear is eaither grinding on the clutch or the transmission is grinding, 3rd does the same thing and barks on the clutch real bad if i dont hold the clutch in for about 3 seconds before shifting, and 4th is fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: problems with t5 swap
That's a clutch problem, not a trans problem. Basically impossible for the trans to do that by itself.

Well the position of the throwout bearing can only be in one spot due to the pivot ball on the inside of the bell housing. Wouldnt it do it in every gear and not only 2 if that was the problem though?

I don't think you've studied the pic quite thoroughly enough yet.
The "wrong" function has nothing to do with the ball. It consists of putting the spring ears on the outside of the TOB's collar, instead of inside it where they belong.
The other 2 gears would be doing it too, ESPECIALLY reverse, if they weren't already trashed. The fact that they're already disabled is the only reason you haven't noticed it doing it in those as well.
But since you'll be dropping the trans out and re-assembling it this weekend, you can take care of the TOB mis-assembly at the same time, won't cost you a thing.

Did you bleed the clutch lines? I had the same problem with mine when I swapped a T5 into it. My "pre-bled" GM clutch lines were not bled in the slightest. I'd at least try bleeding it before trying to drive it anywhere.

Re: problems with t5 swap
9 out of 10 of these issues ARE in fact clutch issues not transmission issues. I've been reading this forum for a long time, and also did a T5 swap myself. Of course I can't say for sure, but it REALLY sounds like a clutch issue.
....that being said, when I bought my T5 swap, I chose to rebuild it, just in case. I bought the T5 rebuild DVD from Hanlon motorsports, put a $20 craigslist tv on my workbench, and even with all the tools I had to buy, still spent about half what a transmission shop wanted for the job.
