Re: trans cooler

I run an 11x12" Long Tru-Cool LPD cooler in front of the radiator (small air gap between transmission cooler and A/C condenser). I find it works well because at slow speeds, the radiator fans will pull air through it. The A/C still works great since the cooler isn't attached to it. And the transmission runs nice and cool in Texas weather.

I run it with the radiator cooler bypassed for extra cooling performance.

I can still run it fine in the wintertime because the LPD will bypass the cooling area of the transmission cooler until the pressure (heat) comes up enough to warrant it running in it's normal mode.

Re: trans cooler

If you're not running AC, use an 88-92 condensor.

Re: trans cooler

I have a B&M Supercooler #70268 with a Derale fan mounted in front of the radiator. The Supercooler is 7.5 x 11 x 3/4. $55.96 @ Summit Racing.

Re: trans cooler

I bypassed the rad cooler and have a 8x11 cooler with an electric fan on it with an external filter with a mobil one filter. Every 10 degrees you drop your temp you add 10.000 miles to your trans. I made an aluminum air dam that is three inches lower to grab more air to keep mine cool. It is also curved slightly forward to grab and direct the air. Be sure to remember to use transmission line hose and not fuel hose.
