700r4 wiring
Could bad wiring on the lock-up pin be causing my car to shutter/vibrate horribly bad? I unpluged it and the vibration stopped but I dont want to have to replace the converter if I dont have to...

Re: 700r4 wiring
It could be the lockup solenoid on its way out. Its pretty easy to replace and costs about 20 bucks. I would give that a try first.
Below is what youl see when you drop the pan. The circled part is the solenoid. Remove those two 10mm bolts and pull it out. Cut the two wires going into it and hook up the new one. Depending on where you buy it, the new solenoid should come with connectors to splice it in.

I've read that on 88 and older that the TCC is right by the TV cable... Correct or no?

Im not sure, youll have to see when you open it up. I know 87 and up are a little different so it could be. It should look the same though.

Re: 700r4 wiring

I swapped the TCC solenoid and that was the problem! I had more metal than i'd like on the magnet but I'm going to replace the tranny in a few months anyway... I owe you a beer if your ever in Bama... Thread Starter

Re: 700r4 wiring
Well, it helped for a few days... its back to vibrating again but not as often or as intense. I'm just going to replace the tranny and put a stall in it that is non-lockup!
