where to buy hydraulic clutch system
i am trying to get my car out of garage.recently got new tires and rims and can not get out to see them on my car 1984 z28.i would normally add fluid to reservoir and pump and off i would go,but a couple of months ago i noticed black residue in reservoir and payed no attention.after hours of pumping i came to conclusion that i most likely need to replace the whole system rather than individual parts since one failed the other is due to fail as well, if i am wrong please let me know this would save me some money.but i have headers in my car and they melted the hose 20 years ago.all replacements do not indicate any metal hoses or any means of bleeding the system .can anyone recommend a brand or manufacturer that has metal hoses included with some sort of bleed valve,i search and send emails to several companies no responses thank you van niko

Easiest thing to do is get a new one @ GM; and use one of those little rubber-coated one-hole straps to restrain the hose to the firewall and hold it away from the exhaust, like the rest of us do.
The whole setup comes pre-assembled, pre-filled with fluid, pre-bled; ready to just bolt on and drive away.
You could even get the one for a 93-97 T-56, which will have a line that's a bit too long, but otherwise works perfect; and that kind has a braid-covered line, for what little difference it makes.

my original, got a hole from heat, when i added the headers, keep in mind it does have the electric fan, which blows heat back onto firewall, the original did use hard plastic,i am still concerned even with clap it might cause damage.has anyone used installation along with clamp, any recommendation on hose installation.the original does not look likely to allow a hose swap either nor any bleed capabilities.

Although they can be a little hard to find, if you can manage to get an aluminum 3rd gen slave cylinder from some parts outlet, the 93-97 f-body, braided steel line will work with the 3rd gen aluminum slave cylinder. The braided line doesn't fit the plastic 3rd gen slaves, but it does fit the aluminum ones. I put together the ultimate hydraulic clutch setup a few years ago by using the aluminum McLeod adjustable clutch master cylinder, the 4th gen braided line, and the 3rd gen aluminum slave cylinder. There's pics of it on here in one of my old posts.
