how to set detent cable with carb

how do you set the detent cable with a carbed motor, im about to the end of motor swap now and went to set my tv cable like i did on my old v6 where you pushed the button on the cable, and pushed the cable slider back into the housing the pulled the throttle wide open to set it and the cable isnt setting.

yes, Iv got the eldebrock adjustable throttle and tv cable bracket

The tvmadeez link has the info for Edelbrock crabs and Holley carbs.
Do you have the correct geometry corrector for your carb? This is different than a bracket that gets mounted to the rear of the carb to mount the cables to.
