I have done a lot of 700s but I have never tried to interchange pumps. Basically I have an 86 700 that has a leaking pump so I need to pull the trans. Rather than mess with it I have a new auxilary vb pump I would like to slam in there. Information is kind of limited on swapping between non aux vb pumps and aux vb pumps. From what info I have found, it looks like all I have to do is plug the aux vb pipe hole and that's it...is it that simple?

 

no, it's not that simple. the aux pump does not have the feed hole for the forward clutch that the non-aux does. that is what the pipe is for on the aux. pump.
