9 bolt swap help!!!
Hey I finally found a 3.27 9 bolt for my 89 GTA, it came with the entire rear end. So now I need to swap my housing out and throw this one in?
Anyone ever done this, I am assuming its not that difficult. I also was wonderring about how long this one will last at 15 - 20 ft lbs torque on the posi, cones aren't mint but its way better than not being able to move!

It's straight forward, Remove old one and put new one back in, Change teh fluid and hope for the best. I am unsure on your torque question.

Re: 9 bolt swap help!!!
What's in there now? A 10 bolt? Worn out 9 bolt? Swap the whole axle or just carrier? If you mean 15-12 lbs torque to overcome the posi that's not close to enough. Need about 35 ft lbs minimum. If you need to rebuild there are several threads. Look at the faq boars and search.
Re: 9 bolt swap help!!!
yes, it would help if you specified what you were replacing. 9-bolt, for 9-bolt is not that tough, but make sure you use correct fluid and shim it properly. 10 bolt and 9 bolt parts are not interchangeable AT ALL. Even the axles are different.
