Motive Gear Master or Super 10 bolt rebuild kit?
I'm all confused... and Motive is too...
I know they have an upgraded kit with Timken bearings, I want that...
Jegs says that the only difference between master and super is super is timken bearings and master is not...
But there are different part numbers for kits with generic and with timken bearings...
On Summit, it says only difference between the 2 kits is that the Super has axle bearings, but master doesn't...
So I called Motive TWICE... First guy said the axle bearings ARE NOT timken, second guy said AXLE BEARINGS ARE TIMKEN...??
Holy crap....
I got axle bearings with my Axles, but if they are generic and they have Timken available, I'll upgrade... Otherwise I'll just buy the cheaper kit without axle bearings...
Anyone been through this headache before?
Thanks,
Rafael

Don't mess with Jeg's or Summint when you buy rear end parts. Call Tom's Differentials or Randy's Ring & Pinion for rear end parts. The kits (all of the kits) that Summit and Jeg's sell are not very good. They are all just reboxed Ratech kits, which SUCK. Tom's and Randy's have much better kits.
The axle bearings will be Torrington, not Timken.

Otay, thanks for the advice.
It sucks when the people you're buying stuff from don't know their stuff...

I am still going to look where you recommended...
Someone that knows what they are talking about did reply to my email, so I am posting info...

Good Morning Rafael,
Kits with the ‘MKT’ suffix are Master Bearing/Install Kits, and ‘SKT’ are Master Bearing/Install Kits that also include the axle bearings and axle seals.
Timken is the manufacturer of all the internal bearings and races of any bearing kit that we sell that has a ‘T’ suffix. Without a ‘T’ suffix the kits are mostly Koyo Bearing which is an original equipment manufacturer for most Japanese cars and trucks. The axle bearings we sell for most c-clip axle applications are currently supplied by INA which is a quality German original equipment manufacturer of bearings for Mercedes, BMW, etc. Seals are made by various quality seal manufacturers that include National Seal and Chicago Rawhide.
Thanks,

I checked Randy's Ring and Pinion and all their kits are either Yukon or Koyo bearings... didn't' see any with Timken... Even the US Standard sets use Koyo...
