Re: Switch Starter with T-56 Conversion
All 3 work.
LT1 corvette mini starter, never look back
sounds cooler than:
4th gen starter?
which is lighter than:
153 tooth original 305 3rd gen style starter?
If you try hard enough, either of the first two can be had online for under $150 outright.

Re: Switch Starter with T-56 Conversion
What they are trying to say is buy any LT1 based starter. So basically order one for a 93-97 camaro or firebird with a 5.7 LT1. The wire will be the same as the stock 3rd gen ones so no need to modify anything.

I meant corvette LT1 ministarter, not the same as 4th gen F body. The vette starter is a nippon denso unit

Re: Switch Starter with T-56 Conversion
It doesnt matter which starter you use as long as it's for an SBC with the right tooth count. I just use 4th gen F-body starters, but the corvette option is a good one also.
The newer 4th gen and Corvette starters are gear-reduction starters so they can turn the engine over much faster. Just makes everything easier, also since they're smaller and ligther you cut weight AND you get more header clearance.
