Shear pinion gear Richmand thoughts on 3.73 currently have 3.23

Here mix reviews on drove 3.23,3.42 and 2.73

Haven't drove 3.73 gear before

On highway with 3.23 I'm around 2-2500 rpm cruising between 65-80

What's your thoughts and are all gears the same as far strength or no

Good thing Wife made it home idk exactly what happen tho wasn't driving at the time

Have eaton true trac

It doesn't matter what you try to do, you will still have tiny ring and pinion teeth and they'll usually always be the first thing to fail.

Replace the gears with whatever you can afford and start saving up for a diff swap. A 12 bolt or 9" will take a lot more abuse than the tiny 7.5" 10 bolt.

I understand that just looking for replacement gears right now and seeing if it really worth going to 3.73 for a little more get up and go I do have 2.73 gear in garage also but haven't driven stock gear car and so long and pinion is larger but 2.73 isn't best gear

Yea been saving up for that but holding off tell next lsx swap

I have a factory 3.27 9 bolt disc I had on my 90 iroc in garage that I'll throw in for the time being

My formula 350 has 3.73s and a 4L60E (4 speed auto). at 60mph I'm at 1750rpm. It's 0-60 is 5 flat. Has plenty of launch. But the tpi runs out of breath above 100.

Re: Shear pinion gear Richmand thoughts on 3.73 currently have 3.23
I have a built motor and aftermarket intake base and runners cam etc so nothing is stock besides the ported pleneum I'm pulling up to 5500ish before leveling off

So it pulls up high compared to stock l98 where falls flat around 4k and losses steam going to 100 but that's really depending on gearing really and of course power and

So I decided to toss the 9 bolt 3.27 bolt after much thinking due to it being complete slightly stronger and gives me more time to save $$$ good thing I didn't get arid of it , really didn't want to work all day putting it in but needed to be done and swap my 9 bolt over it already had pbr disc so was a little easier

Will be rebuilding the posi putting new cones in shortly but for now I'm back up so very little money out of pocket

The wife still don't want to tell who she raced that night lol she said it just happen I'm like ok

Sell the 9 bolt before it gets hurt and use the money towards an aftermarket diff.

Here's the difference between a 10 Bolt and 9" and the reason for the switch when using a "hard hook" with sticky tires.

Naw I'm wait I'm no need to rush

Question I wanted to know experience with 3.73 but never mind about that about that

I'm well aware of the options out there
Thanks for the comparison pics tho

I have a plan and will do lsx/blower build and rear end build together I'm no need off a bulletproof rear just yet
