Took the cover off of a 9 bolt I picked up. Not good!

The cones are against the housing. I'm thinking it won't be usable but was hoping someone with experience would chime in.

Cool!! I've been reading about them but wasn't sure about the cones being against the housing. Guess I'll tear into more. Thanks man

Yea, that one is worn out, but it can be reconditioned. I've done a few of them myself. It's pretty easy if you have a lathe.

A lathe for the housing or cones? Both?

There are some threads on here with pictures that show what needs to be done. Check the stickys and see of it's there.

I'm asuming that the shims are the thickness of what was machined/worn away, correct?

You are about 2 1/2 hours away from me. My daughter is living in Lexington right now and my wife just left this morning to go up there for 2 days.

Would you be interested in machining it? I'll pm my cell number if so.

You going to ship it or how do you want to get it to me? Might take me a little while to get to it. I've got about 5 jobs going right now.
