1982 z28 th350 swap help please
Hey guys, I bought an 82 z28 a few years back and finally started building it. It's ready to go, but I've lost the drive shaft. I've put a 1986 th350 with the 9" tailshaft in the car. Can anyone give me an idea on the drive shaft length I will need, and also the transmission yoke length I should be looking for? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
I've been told 41.5" from center u to u. But I want to be absolutely sure before I have it cut. And also I need to know what trans yoke I need.

A short TH350 is a 6" tail.
A 9" tail TH350 will take an 83-92 T5 / 700-R4 driveshaft which should be somewhat easy to find.
You should speak to your driveline supplier for how they would like you to measure it.

Im confused here. Or maybe i'm misunderstanding your post
If you have a 9 inch tail, th350 trans, then you just need a 83-92 t5/700r4 original drive shaft. It fits perfect/ You just use the trans yoke from the original 700r4 fbody drive shaft, no need to change that. I did a th350 swap last year and I reused my original drive shaft and it fit just right, as long as you have a 9 inch tail end on the th350.

Re: 1982 z28 th350 swap help please
TH350 is a 27 spline "GM small" yoke. Same as any third gen. Approximately 1.5" outer diameter. You don't need a very long one; the third gen suspension doesn't have huge travel. U-joint in a third gen driveshaft is going to be a 1310 (spicer reference number, not a PN) or a 3R Saginaw.

Awesome guys, thank you for the information. I didn't have a yoke or driveshaft was the reasons for my questions. Answered perfectly.

If you need a driveshaft I have stock ones with yoke and used U joints. $50 plus shipping. If interested I can get you pics. Give me your zip and I can get you a shipping quote.

If an 82-83 driveshaft the right length is easy for you to find in a salvage yard, you could do that. If you're keeping the car long term, a new alum. shaft would be nice.

Yeah you need one 45-1/4" long from center to center of U joints for a th-350 6" tail swap.
I have one for sale. $100 local pickup or I will ship if buyer pays for shipping.
Here is my craigslist ad for it https://atlanta.craigslist.org/wat/pts/5504175074.html
came out of a 1988 camaro with a 350/th-350 short shaft swapped in. Had a Spohn th350 swap crossmember w/ loop, and adjustable torque arm (I have that for sale as well)
