T56 to a gen 1 sbc?
T56 to a gen 1 sbc?
Hello all, new user here, I hope someone can help me or point me in the right direction with my swap, it's a long story but I'll try to sum it up,
I have a 1983 Chevy camaro z28, it has a gen 1 small block with a t5 manual in it, I'm swapping in a 1993 camaro z28 t56 manual. I bought the trans with the 1993 flywheel and clutch.
when we tried to install it the 1993 flywheel did not match the bolt holes on the gen 1 sbc, I was tolled that there are 2 types of flywheel for the different rear main seals, and the only flywheels I was able to locate where very expensive custom jobs.
has anyone had this problem? Anyone got any cheaper alternatives?
thanks!

A brief search of this forum for "T-56" will turn up everything you could possibly want to know, and about 10 times as much stuff more that you don't even know you don't know yet. Be aware though, a bunch of it is obsolete; people that used to make or do stuff that you used to could buy, but not anymore.

Thanks all for the pointers, I was hopping for something cheaper since I'm going to be doing an engine swap in a few months,
what kind of flywheel would I need for a 350 vortec one pice rear main in order for the t56 to work with it? Is there anything special for it?
