Need Help / Flywheel - Clutch T5 swap
Hi from Germany (sorry for my bad english first),
My Car: 1985 V8 5.0 S/E LG4 Digit: H
The car was delivered original with Automatic, one Owner before me, swapped an T5 Manual Transmission from a Ford Mustang. Now actually i have problems, the Flywheel or the Clutch. Its noisy ... realy bad. Now i dont want to open Transmission and Clutch before i order the new Parts to change only to measure up what is in there . Could everybody give me an answer which Flywheel and which Clutch Size are correct? When i google oder look at rockauto or ebay, there are many different Flywheels with 153 an 168 Tooth and some different Diameters, the Clutches same Problem, from 10" to 12 3/8" and i dont know which Sizes i need.
Here in Germany it is not easy to become the Parts and so every order will take some weeks vom the States to me, so you see, its not easy for me and i dont want to make a mistake at ordering.
Could anybody help me?
Greetings Sascha

Wow I would be interested how they managed to get the mustang transmission to work. You wont be able to use the stock clutch as I believe the input shaft has a different number of splines. Because of the oddity of this swap (first I have seen) you probably should take it all apart and look for part numbers on parts. Take lots of pictures.

Hopefully when you take it apart you will find a camaro or firebird T5 that will be a lot easier.
see if you can identify the T5 being used

Actually ived seen there is a clutch for my Bird with 10 splines on Clutchside / Input .... this could be the middle Part for working . Normally at the Bird are 26 splines ... but there are some clutches in 10,4" dia with 10 splines ..... hmmmmmm this could be the answer.

I have seen in other swaps with this trans people use a S10 clutch like this one. How did they adapt the ford bolt pattern to the chevy bell housing?

McLeod, at least 3 years ago made a clutch disc for the S10 application, but those are 14 spline input shafts. I have one in my IROC...and am gathering parts for a T56.
