T5 clutch fork alignment issue
When installing the slave cylinder in my Trans Am I noticed my clutch fork seems to not be installed all the way. The pivot ball does not match up with the pivot point, and the slave cylinder pivot point is also way off. The fork is loose, and I backed out the clutch ball as much as I could, but the fork will not go further into to throwout bearing. What is preventing it from sliding on more? The fork also cannot be pulled back out, I'm really hoping I can get the fork to move without removing the transmission. .

Re: T5 clutch fork alignment issue
AFAIK it is not possible to assemble the fork to the BH & TOB after the transmission is installed. The fork has to go inward, toward the transmission, about an inch farther than it can go with the transmission there, in order for the spring clip thing to clear the ball and slip over it. Taking out the ball doesn't change this.
Looks to me like the transmission needs to come back out, and the whole thing put back together in the right order. Transmission out, then the pivot ball fully installed, then the fork spring thing clipped onto it properly, then the TOB clipped onto the fork properly with the other end of the spring thing completely inside the TOB groove, then and only then the transmission put back in.

That's what I was afraid of, I'll start removing the transmission. Thank you!

Spreading the spring clip to install the fork is possible, but ultimately, you'll spring the clip material. Keep removing.

You do NOT need to do any of that...... unless you want to do a lot of needless work.

Re: T5 clutch fork alignment issue
John, somehow I missed your comment on the thread, sorry! After pulling and pushing the fork in every conceivable way and direction, I decided to just pull the trans. My issue was just a badly placed clutch fork, easy to readjust with the trans out. After thinking about it and looking at how the clip sits on the pivot ball, it IS possible to move the fork without removing the trans (per the thread you posted). From my efforts however, the clip got a bit bent out of shape, just something to know for anyone trying to adjust it: you will likely harm the clip by pulling/pushing as required to free the fork. Thanks for your help everyone, closer and closer to finishing my build!
