That's an interesting idea to get the housing blasted. I have thought about replacing or making something for the door on my cabinet too.
I ended up using a garbage bag and large tupperware lid combo. worked pretty decent, didn't lose too much media. just gotta secure the bag so it doesn't get sucked in by the vacuum. A big box would probably be better, but didn't have one.
it works pretty darn good. I tried installing a dust bag in the vacumme, as additional protection to the vac, but it just gets sucked out. maybe I need to zip tie it or something. the dust thing, really does collect debri, and media.
like your 55 gallons support container idea. tough moving this thing around.
years ago I used to support rears with jack stands but one of my knees complained alot one day and decided that I need to stand up so the drum was a good cheap solution, it also catches alot of the crud that scrapes off, and its actually easier to move drum and rear around and back into my shop - sliding it versus lifting Up and down. Alot is my age when I was in my 30s it didn't affect me much and now 60 is around the corner, I have to respect I'm not the animal I used to be
thanks guys. trying to replicate the natural look that the car is delivered with. POR-15 colors. not nearly as good of a job as breaking out the paint gun, but I'm hoping it will be more durable. The diff cover is stock. I haven't cleaned it up yet. Just wanted to get the diff stop rusting while I rebuild it. will likely need to do some paint touch up by the time I'm done. also go the brake caliper mounts painted with Eastwood cadmium - its too bright, but hey, what can a guy do. now to knock out those axle bearings!
