Vibrations at highway speeds

Hi all,

Has anyone experienced vibrations at highway speeds from using a poly torque arm bushing?

I recently rebuilt my rear axle and discovered that my AT mount was bad. Replaced the mount and the torque arm bushing with poly and the vibrations were so bad I ended up putting a stock rubber mount back on. I left the poly torque arm bushing on because I didn’t think it could affect it.

The vibrations are now 80% gone, but there’s still enough left to annoy me. It’s just enough to rattle the door panels/dash pad and feel in the seat of your pants.

I didn’t have this issue before the axle was rebuilt/new mounts installed. I’m hoping it’s the poly torque arm bushing, but I wanted some feedback before I tore it down.

Things I’ve replaced:
U joints
Extension housing bushing
Flipped drive shaft 180 degrees
balanced wheels/tires

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

I read through some previous posts regarding drive train vibrations and many pointed out that the stock steel driveshafts don't bode well with shorter gear swaps (I originally had 2.73's and jumped to 3.42's).

I bought a 4th gen aluminum DS from ebay and it has pretty much solved the problem. I cruised for about an hour at 82 on the interstate this past weekend and couldn't believe how much smoother the ride was.

Before I could not drive above 74 without getting rattled apart.
