Dig delima here...

I'll have my TTA motor in about a week, i hope to have it in by March. I was planning on sticking with the 700r4 but the thought of converting to the 200r4 keeps creeping into my head, though its an expensive swap, what do u guys think?

You'll have to convert to the 200-4r, the 700r4 won't bolt to the Buick 6-cyl block.

Really? I have a friend that just bought a TTA motor... as well. There is no way to get it to bolt to a 700r4?

You could probably use various adapters but you more than likely wouldn't like how it would work. I suspect one of the reasons the 200-4R was selected by GM was that it has a closer ratio and thus the turbo will stay 'on' when accelerating at heavy throttle.

TCI makes an adapter plate that allows a 700r4 to bolt to a buick 3.8.

I've heard the standard 85 buick engine is the same as the GN motor... except different components. Block is the same, except you have to drill a different hole or something somewhere. Might want to check on a GN board about that.

the block might be the same as an 85 GN engine but i think the block changed slightly in '86/87. Don't quote me though......
