Hawks Clutch Pedal Conversion
Hello All, I have a 1992 Camaro that is currently an automatic 700R4 w/ a 305 TBI that I am LS swapping from a 1999 Z28 donor car. Pulling the LS, T56 6 speed manual tranny, rearend, drive shaft, and fuel tank.
Doing some research on the clutch pedal and the possibility of modifying a 3rd gen pedal assembly, which seems to be a bit stronger and more reliable OR modify the existing 4th gen assembly. I also found that Hawks does sell a conversion assembly for about $250, anyone have experience with this? It sounds liked the 4th gen MC will work just fine to swap in with this setup without much work. I'm not opposed to trying to modify some stuff myself and save money, but also the simplicity of a bolt in assembly is appealing to save some time and headache.

Re: Hawks Clutch Pedal Conversion
I did find this conversation: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...al-pedals.html
It sounds like they used the 4th gen repo pedal assembly. I would plan on using the 3rd gen assembly, which may address this issue

Re: Hawks Clutch Pedal Conversion
The Hawks setup is a 4th gen pedal setup, they just cut off the accelerator pedal. The functional difference between the 84-92 and 93-02 pedals is the diameter of the clutch master pin and a slight change in geometry.

Re: Hawks Clutch Pedal Conversion
Okay that is believable. So there really is no sense of me purchasing that from Hawks means I have the 4th gen assembly already. If I wanted to go to a 3rd gen assembly I would need to find that one with the clutch pedal then. Don't think I've read it, but does anyone use a 3rd gen accelerator pedal and cut off that from the 4th gen and just install the brake and clutch assembly? I will likely have a better idea when I get to that step in the swap
