What transmission should I swap (ADVICE NEEDED)

Hello I am an 18 year old who has had an 1987 Iroc Camaro for a little over a year now. I replaced the old 305 with a blueprint engines 350 sbc and kept the stock 700r4 in it. Now I make 400 whp and 415tq and I blew up the 700r4. Im really considered a 4l60e swap and using a standalone ECU to control it. Any thoughts? Should I go with another 700r4?

The THM700-R4 and the 4L60E/ 65E/ 70E/ 75E are both essentially the same Transmission...

With the major difference just being the Valve-Body and the way in which it is Controlled (Throttle-Valve + Governor VS Power-Train Control Module).

Most of the Parts interchange and they both Blow-Up in the same ways!

How difficult would the 4l60e swap be? Does it bolt right in? Or do I need a new torque arm and crossmember?

A 1993 through 1996 (that will be updated) Model Year 4L60E from an F-Body will be a Direct Swap.
(No Crossmember or Torque-Arm changes).

Later Model Year F-Body Cores will require a Crossmember, Bell-Housing, Flex-Plate, Torque-Converter, Pump/ Stator-Support, and Input-Shaft Changes to allow for a Swap.

I would not hesitate to rebuild the the 700-4r and build it for performance/endurance. it is a good tranny.

Lane, these two people have given you great advice, your shortest (read, LE$$ EXPEN$IVE) path to what you want is to have your transmission rebuilt to a level that will handle the power your expecting it to. Unless you have a particular hard on for just having to have the electronically controlled one, since Vortec explained they will both grenade in the exact same ways without being built for more than stock engine power levels, why add the extra layers of complexity to getting your engine's power to the rear wheels?

The THM700-R4 can be built for over 1,000 HP (by select Builders) not that you necessarily need that.
