No reason to do this swap so don't you are not going to get any more performance and it will hurt your gas mileage.

Re: 700r4 to th350 swap

Same driveshaft should work no problem, the 350 is vacum regulated so just run a vacum hose to the intake.

Re: 700r4 to th350 swap

also this might be a very stupid question but im gonna ask it anyway when buying a used transmission is there anything i can look for to tell me if the tranny is any good i know a bad tranny with burnt gears will have a odor and color change to the fluids but what if the gears are not burnt?

He will need a kickdown cable for passing gear.
==========

OP no real way to tell, they all end up with junk in the pan and smelly fluid and can run like that on the same fluid for 50 years.

Or it can look all brand new, n be trash in 3 days.

If its a real buddy, if its crap once installed, he gives a refund or else, as you know where he lives

Its not a big deal or allot of work, well they are heavy as sin

buy some long bolts or section of all thread that will screw into the block, cut the heads off and screw into the block, the two far side bottoms, Use those as guide pin to put the trans on and slide it up to the motor to get a bolt started else where. Then remove and put in reg bolts.

Though also making sure the torque convertor is in right, is a big deal kinda.
only as it can feel like its in right, but its not. Put it in wrong and its chews up the front pump.

And what the "deal"
should be able to get a rebuilt th350 for $5-600 local easy with a good core to exchange, a Built th350 with all the goodies is only a bit over a grand.

paid $1195 for mine shipped from AZ to Ohio, no core charge, shift kit, 5 clutch mod, 3.08 1st, 2200stall TC

Re: 700r4 to th350 swap

Yes, you will need a torque arm mount, and a crossmember - most the 3rd gen F-body crossmembers incorporate the torque arm mount. Like this: http://www.umiperformance.com/catalo...bdq3liis264de1

I want to say there are 3 different tail shaft lengths, and to use your stock driveshaft you need the middle one. I think it's 6", 9", 12" tailshafts, and you need the 9". Search this - I may be remembering wrong on the lengths and which one (maybe it's 3, 6, 9 and you need the 6). There's 100's of TH350 swap threads here.

Re: 700r4 to th350 swap

for my th350 swap: first I bought the B&M kit for the torque arm its ok but then I went with a spohn x-member(you can use your x-member but need to make a small adapter plate because the bushing mount is different) and torque arm,you will need a driveline depending on which tail shaft the tranny has try to find one from a third gen that had a 200-r in it(same length and front yoke as a short tail th350)if its a short tail.or you can get from spohn for just under $400.I also went with a hurst shifter.check the bolt pattern on the flex plate to see if its a dual pattern plate
