Hard Shift, help please!
Hi all.
I have a 91 Camaro that the previous owner swapped with the 305 V8 (TBI) and the 700R4 transmission. I am having a problem where it shifts REALLY hard into drive. But all other shifts while moving are perfectly smooth.
I have already replaced the TV Cable (aka detent cable or kick down). The cable was very worn and frayed.
I have also already checked the transmission mount which looks new and no problems. Lastly the fluid level is perfect and has fresh fluid.
Suggestions before I take her to a transmission shop?

Is your idle real high? May not be a trans issue in which case. Could be governor or converter issue too, I'd think.
