Cannot remove diff cover

I’ve tried everything I know. The last person used a ton of blue rtv on an aftermarket cover. I’ve tried tapping razor blades around the perimeter and scraping all excess off. I have the bearing cap stabilizer bolts really tight to help push out and the entire back of the car is jacked up slightly on the lip of the cover and it won’t budge. Heat gun did nothing. This damn cover is holding up the brake swap.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: Cannot remove diff cover

Support the axle with jackstands and whack it with a soft face deadblow while prying.

Re: Cannot remove diff cover

Carb cleaner sprayed slowly at the top of the diff cover so that it runs down each side and penetrates into where the razor blades cut the RTV. Give it a little time and the RTV will soften.

Re: Cannot remove diff cover

I would use a putty knife and place it between cover and housing gently tap putty knife in between the two. work around the perimeter
