LS+Magnum-F ran good for 4 days before grenading the rear end. Yukon gears worth it?

So, I may have dropped the clutch a lil bit and now it sounds like my transmission and/or rear end are falling apart. Dear god let it be the rear not the 4 day old Magnum-F. Anyway, the rear is a 10 bolt with 4:11 posi. If it turns out I just lost a tooth or something and can get away with just replacing the ring and pinion until I can afford a rear end upgrade, is the yukon gear worth it? Is it that much stronger for ~$350 vs ~$180 for a basic set from summit?

Thanks.

I don't know how much hp you have but I doubt a 10 bolt will stand up to dropping the clutch with a 416 stroker. mho.

I have a 450 up and going to a magnum f close ratio. I have a 9in w 4.11s. It's awesome. The higher fist gear works perfect w the 4.11 and the double OD brings highway rpm down to normal. It's really the best of both worlds. That said, I would strongly advise skipping a rebuild of the stock rear. Especially if you have wide/sticky tires.
its just gonna blow up again. I have a sat of sticky 305s in the rear and I couldn't imagine a stock rear lasting long w any abuse.

if had numerous rear ends rebuilt. Yukon makes good stuff. Some say they're loud. There's a ton of brands. I've gotten my setups from west coast differential and Randy's. Try and get timken bearings. I think koyo bearings are OK too.

all that said, by the time your done w a stock rebuild your well into the price of a better 9in/8.8(or other) setup.

Don't waste any money on a factory 10 bolt. Just use that towards a new 9 inch

So it sounds like from what yall are saying, if it turns out to just be a broke ring and\or pinion then a cheap replacement to get me on the road again and then start saving up for an actual upgrade? Well, on that note, my plan has always been to save up 5 or 6 grand and order one of those ready to bolt in ford 9" setups people seem to do a lot. Is that still the best option? Are there also cheaper upgrade options I haven't considered?

Get an actual upgrade. You'll be spending money endlessly on a 10 bolt. With a 9 inch rear end you don't necessarily have to buy it all in one go. You can buy a housing and axle package, then either buy the center section in pieces or new/used complete.

There's plenty of options out there from Trick Chassis, Midwest Chassis, Moser and Quick Performance but I'd stay away from them those housings are questionable at best but their complete center sections are top notch and come at a very nice price

Hawks Motorsports sells their 8.8 rear end packages but I think gearing choices are a bit more limited compared to the 9"

I've had a moser for years. They know their stuff. They have a ton of options that make it better to install.

Forgot to post but I made a video of the sound. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to sound like that. Maybe a bearing? Figure next I'll slide the axles out and see if it still makes the noise.
