I need to pull my axles to switch my backing plates, so I will need to do my seals and bearings soon as well. Following in case anyone has any input.

Re: TIMKEN SET9
Not sure how it could possibly "doesn't matter".
The race ends up in the bore of the housing, facing the way that the cone can go into it (large inner dia outward; and the cone goes on the shaft facing the way that it can go into the race (small end facing inward).
Look at the photo in post #14 of this https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...oc-3-23-a.html.

Re: TIMKEN SET9
The set9 is a 1 piece bearing, just to look at it both ends look the same size. I guess I need to find my calibers to be for sure. The pic on post 14 is the original bearing yea I see what your saying on that one.

Re: TIMKEN SET9
Set 9 is a 2-piece bearing. An outer race, and a cone assy of the inner race and cage w rollers. Very typical and ordinary trailer axle, wheel, etc. bearing.
