Holley and 700r4, what should be the proper TV angle?

Im not willing to but a $50 bracket to fix the alignment problem with a Holley carb (700r4 tranny) its a little overpriced considering I can bend the bracket for free
What should be the proper angle? Im using the bottem hole on the carb for the TV. Should the cable be set to perfectly straight ------, or will a slight angle be good enough?

Thanks!

And yes I asked around the carb board.

Thanks for the reply. So it should be set fairly straight.
Thanks!

The distance from the center of the throttle blade to the center of the TV cable hole is 1.11". The TV cable should start at the 4:45 postion & wind up at 7:15 in the WOT position. The center of the clock being the throttle blade. Most late Holley's & Edelbrock carbs are setup with the TV hole being close to right.

I used the diagram above, cut a V in the linkage, bent it, checked it, rechecked it and welded it up. It's a pain in the ***. I have seen the brackets for $30 Summit even carries them now, I'd rather just buy one.
I used a clear protractor and carb stand to take measurments.

I bought the bracket thats in summit and it works great. when you look at it it looks like it might be off, until you pull the throttle back and the cable goes completely straight.

I say spend the $$ and not have to worry about it, my holley was brand new and it wasn't even close to being in the right position
