I am picking one up soon and my question is how did you hook up the E-brake cables? Did you have to swap to thirdgen cables or do the 4th gen ones work?

i bolted my stock 3rd gen disc brakes to the 4th gen rear and rerouted the stock ebrake lines. works like a charm.

I'm doing the same. Do a search on this board for 4th gen rear cables and you will get more than you can handle on the subject. I just got done printing a couple good pages off it.

Good Luck

Yeah but I wanted to keep them because the thirdgen ones suck. I know they aren't a lot of stopping power but thirdgens need all tehy acn get when it comes to stopping.

will drum brakes fit on a 4th gen rear, and work with 3rd gen pontiac 16" rims?

i doubt it. i think the mounting brackets are completely different from disc to drum. i think its possible to chop up the drum brake bolting plate to accept disc, but not vice versa. btw, not all 3rd gen rear brakes suck, i used the 89-92 11 inch PRB brakes that came with 4th gens stock. i wouldnt bother putting on the other smaller rear brakes.

What I'm planning to do to make up for the difference in lengths between the 3rd and 4th gen cables is get some threaded rod thats the same thread as the rod on the e-brake cable that comes from the lever, and a coupler to join them.
