can i drive without the T.C. 4 prong connector plugged in???
I unplugged the connector a few days ago to see if that would stop the problem with the T.C. constently locking and unlocking when driving. and it did. so can i drive my car like this without it causing and problem? or should i stay off the highway??
Not a good idea!!! Maybe ok for in town but on any highway use it will burnup the trans over time. I know because I did it and I fried my trans. I bought the GTA that had a engine fire and did not get the lockup wire hooked up properly and overheated the trans and trashed the planetary gears.
do u think its better then drivign it with it constently locking and unlocking?? i DO know that since i unlocked it, my gas millage has increased ALOT....
i need to know how to fix it
i need to know how to fix it It can't possibly burn up your tranny because the only function is to lock up the converter. I have had mine unplugged forever and with no adverse effects. You should get it fixed if you don't have the tools and some knowledge about your tranny. If you do know enough to try it then you could either troubleshoot the problem, quite easy, or you could replace all the switches in your tranny. It sounds to me like your lockup switch, which is the one directly in the bottom of the pump at the front of the engine is gone bad. If you need more help feel free to ask. Good luck!!

It can hurt the tranny because of the extra heat generated from the torque converter. In OD the rpms drop, but without the lock-up the converter slip constantly. Set-up a manual switch.
